This house is trying to KILL ME.

More specifically, the fire alarm. The fire alarm goes off anytime someone takes a shower. It goes off anytime I cook dinner. And now has decided to just go off randomly, and when you shut it up, it starts beeping again thirty seconds later.

I finally just gave up and took the battery out.

At this point, I'm now waiting for the scary shrieking "GET OUT!" voice. At which time I will scream "FIND ME A JOB AND I'M OUT OF HERE!"

Come on, demons from the ether. You can either terrorize me with allergies, smoke alarms and spooky vibe, or you can help me get a job, and I'll get out of your hair. Put that supernatural dark energy from the abyss to something PRODUCTIVE!

My smoke detector does the same thing when I take a shower. I found that if I point a fan at it while I'm taking a shower, the steam doesn't set it off.

That was just the best mental picture. You really need to write short screenplay about that concept.

I loathe smoke detectors. Mine always seems to go off when I'm cooking sausages. Even when there isn't any smoke. What makes it worse is that my son, Max, hates the noise of it and it always makes him cry.

I can definitely see a film version of your haunted interview, though. 'The Referee' with soundtrack by Mike Oldfield...

Ellen.

Good positive image. Try it with breathing regularly and deeply. You might get some sleep! :-)

Spring's coming soon, I promise.

IT's not spring allergies - I'm allergic to the rosin in our hardwood floors.

I should attempt to see if I can have a smoke detector without destroying it in a fit of rage over a false alarm again one of these years.

Don't bother, but thanks.

...the shower, it's not working properly. Replace it (if you can afford it) with another from the supermarket (which is where we get our smoke detectors in Australia).

There's a local TV advert that shows a house burning down while the owner's asleep upstairs. A voice-over says "He took the battery out because the beeping annoyed him". They're making smoke detectors compulsory in NSW in a few months.

I live in an old weatherboard house, and a smoke detector is essential! Once I was on the computer while making a meal and it went off - rightly so as it happened - there was a pillar of fire coming up from the wok that I'd forgot about!

If you're worried about DARK ENERGY, try putting trhem in AWFW.

Not many people realize this, but AWFW is mostly pre-scripted. Not the specific lines, but the events. Events happening in my life now won't show up for years (And with most of AWFW scripted to it's end, it may not even show up at all).

Prescripting

Really? Gee, I'm not that organised. You must really know where you're going with the strip!

Yup, I know where and exactly how CS and AWFW for end, as well as about ten or twelve OTHER stories I'd like to get to one of these years.

You probably have dust other contaminates on the internal screen inside the detector. If you are feeling somewhat mechanically inclined, take ti apart and clean it, otherwise toss it and buy a new one.
